Back to Snowy Normal

Blog Tags:

After a week of temperatures that were very cold, as low as ten below zero at night and up to the low single numbers during the day. A snowstorm yesterday and last night left us with another sixteen inches of fresh snow. Today we are back to more seasonable temperatures with highs in the twenties and plenty of sunshine. The forecast for the coming week has settled weather with sun and normal temperatures which feel like spring after last week. Argy and I took some time this afternoon to snowshoe and ski to enjoy the pleasant weather and fresh powder.

Yes it is Cold! Thanks for asking.

You don’t need to ask. After all it is January in Maine aren’t we supposed to have snow and cold? How cold, you ask; around eight below zero Fahrenheit this morning. The most impressive thing about this cold wave was how it arrived. Yesterday morning when I got up at 5AM the temperature was thirty one, five hours later at 10 I went out and discovered that the temperature had fallen to 10 on a stiff northerly wind. Not a fun day to be outside.

Every year for the last several Stripers Forever has surveyed its membership about the striper fishery. The results reflect my fishing last summer. (It is nice to know it was not just me or my clients or this corner of the world) You can view the results at this linkon their website. There are a number of interesting comments from anglers up and down the coast.
