Today is the day that marks the change from fall to winter. It usually arrives right around Thanksgiving here on the Maine coast. Yesterday was warm and windy with plenty of rain. Argy and I went to Bar Harbor to help Noah get the first coat of epoxy resin on his strip built canoe. On our return trip the wind had shifted into the west and was blowing sharply. As the air dried out the temperature dropped. Snow showers are forecast for the next day or so. Still not an accumulating snow but with the colder temperatures and the short days there can be little doubt that serious winter is not far off. The wood stove is now a regular part of every day as is keeping the wood box filled.
All of this means that the time for my review of the year past for Maine Outdoors will need to happen soon. As always I am very grateful for the many clients that make each day a treat. Seeing the sights and experiencing all that there is in the Maine outdoors through your eyes makes me appreciate how truly fortunate I am.
