Snowing Again!

This morning we have a little light snow falling with the forecast calling for ten to fourteen inches of new snow. Temperatures for the next week will be very cold (highs in the single numbers) and the wind will blow tomorrow on the back side of this storm. Many clients ask about winter in Maine and I tell them that we have ten days in the summer when it is too hot to go outside and ten days in the winter when it is too cold to go outside. Those ten winter days are here!

The upside is that the storm track this winter has most of the snow falling along the coast. We will easily have a couple of feet of snow on the ground after this storm. So when it warms up a little there will be excellent snowshoeing not only here in the mid coast but right along the shore in places like Acadia National Park or Moose Point in Searsport.

I am looking forward to getting out there and leading a few winter exploration trips. Please contact me if you would like to arrange a trip.
